The Care for Children Foundation, based out of Altoona, IA, made this incredible donation to Veterans Memorial Hospital in April for the benefit of all the pediatric patients served by the hospital. Educational toys, therapy items, art supplies, an IPAD, play mats, tie blankets, even a child recliner were all dropped off by these friends of the Foundation pictured here.
Founded by high school student James Cory in 2013, with the support of his parents, Craig and Cristy Cory and brother, Cole, and their friends and supporters, the Care for Children Foundation, is a special group of young people dedicated to providing assistance to hospitals through educational items and other goods of need. Over the past six years, this non-profit group has raised over $52,000 that has all gone straight to hospitals of all sizes all over the state. This year alone they raised over $11,000 for the kids served by Genesis Hospital in Davenport, Story County Medical in Nevada and Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon.
